What is the difference between Traditional and Sport Camp?
The focus is different, children that are signed up for Traditional Camp are interested in school yard games and activities but not excluding sports. Sports Camp focus will be on the basic foundation of popular sports. Sports will include baseball, basketball, football and many more. If your child is interested in skill development, please try our Specialty Sport Camps!
What is a typical Specialty Sport Camp Day?
The morning will consist of a wide variety of innovative and fun practice sessions that will help build the basic foundations of sport. In the afternoon, your child will use those basic foundations in a game.
What is the structure of a camp day or what will my child do during the day?
We encourage you to come visit us and check out our four large turf fields, large inflatable bounce houses, full service restaurant with air conditioning, outdoor heated pool, climbing tower, challenge course, and other outdoor venues. Our counselors will provide structured games and activities while transitioning throughout our facility using all venues. There will be snack in the morning, lunch in the afternoon and use of the pool at least once a day.
What does your staff training consist of?
At a minimum, camp staff will be trained in safety regulations, emergency procedures and communication, behavior management techniques, child abuse prevention, appropriate staff and camper behavior, and specific procedures for supervision. All counselors will be CORI/SORI, First Aid & CPR Certified.
Tell me about your pool?
Our pool is roped off into two sections and ranges from 3 to 5 feet in depth. All of our Lifeguards are Red Cross, CPR and First Aid Certified. All campers must pass a swim test to swim in the deep end.
What is the swim test?
Swim the length of the pool twice without touching the bottom or sides. Float on your back for 30 seconds.
Does my child have to swim during open swim?
Of course not, there are shaded picnic tables to play card and board games.
Do you offer swim lessons?
Yes, but they are basic introductory lessons to make sure our campers feel comfortable in the water during free swim.
My child has to take medication during camp hours. What is the process?
First, fill out proper forms (found in our required Parent Packet) and hand in the medication in the original prescription bottle to the camp director or office staff on the first day of camp. Please pick up your excess medication at the end of the camp week.
My child has a peanut allergy?
Although we are not a peanut free camp, we strongly discourage parents from sending their child with peanut products and ask parents to inform office staff if they do. Our snack and lunch do not contain any peanut products!

At Sign-In, parent/guardian must PRINT their name on the sign-in sheet, and PRINT the name of the person picking up campers. At Pick–Up, parent/guardian picking campers up must be the same person on sign-in sheet. They will also need to authenticate pick up with A Valid Drivers License.
What are your ratios?
The child-to-staff ratio for our camp is 5:1 for our youngest campers and 10:1 throughout all other TEAMWORKS camps.
Will you provide sunscreen for the campers?
Teamworks will not provide sunscreen for campers so please make sure you supply your child with enough for the day. We really encourage parents to send campers with extra sun block (labeled) so campers can reapply if they use the pool more than once. (spray block can make second application easier for children) Counselors will remind campers throughout the day to reapply especially on their second trip to the pool.
When will my child use the Climbing Wall and Ropes Course?
Children ages 8 and up wil experience the climbing wall, ropes and teambulding course 2 to 3 times during the week of Traditional Camp. (Depends on single day registration and weather permitting) If your child is really interested, I would suggest the Outdoor Adventure Program.
Does my child have to participate on the Ropes Course?
Of course not, but we encourage our campers to challenge themselves each and everyday to do new and exciting activities.
I saw in your brochure that you offer archery. What is that all about?
Our specially trained counselors will educate your child in the proper way to shoot an arrow. Our safe and fun archery curriculum has been a staple in our camp for the last 10 years.
My child is in the half day program. Does she/he get to swim?
Unfortunately there is not always enough time for the half day camper to swim in the pool. Half Day camps include the Tyke Camps, Lacrosse, Field Hockey and FC STAR Soccer Camps. Half Day Camper are not guaranteed to swim during the camp week.
My child is in the Cubs camp. Does he get to swim?
Cub Campers do have a scheduled free swim time everyday (weather permitting). Cub Campers need to be able to independently change in an out of their clothes at pool time. If your camper chooses not to swim, they can participate in organized activities and fun games made available at our picnic table area.
I’m very concerned about H1N1 and MRSA. Have you done anything to prevent the spread of this?
We are aware of the threat of H1N1 and MRSA and take the safety of our campers and staff very seriously. Campers and Staff are required to wash their hands frequently throughout the day especially before and after they eat. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are available throughout the building as well.
During our staff training, considerable time is spent educating camp staff regarding communicable disease prevention including specific information on how to recognize H1N1 and MRSA and how to report possible cases to camp leadership.
Per the Board of Health and CDC, Campers and Staff with flu-like illness are told to stay home for at least 7 days after the onset of their symptoms, even if they have no more symptoms. Campers and Staff are not allowed to return to Camp without a doctor’s note.
Do you offer snack in the afternoon?
Cubs Camps are provided an afternoon snack by Teamworks. Other campers are welcome to bring an afternoon snack but it is not required or scheduled. If your child is signed up for extended day, please send your camper with a snack.
